Elizabeth Toon Charities was founded 2007 in honor of Elizabeth Toon, who was tragically killed by a hit-and-run driver in 2006 at age 22. Elizabeth had a joyful and blessed life and touched others with her awe-inspiring faith, love and kindness. Elizabeth’s dream of being salt and light for children in need lives on through Elizabeth Toon Charities.

Elizabeth Toon UT Graduation

Elizabeth Toon grew up in Dallas and attended Highland Park High School. In 2006 she graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor’s degree in communications. During college, Elizabeth was selected to serve as a communications intern for First Lady Laura Bush. In 2004 she spent a semester working on the presidential election campaign in Washington, D.C. Upon graduation, Elizabeth moved to Los Angeles, CA to start a career as a line producer managing movie budgets and film projects.

Elizabeth’s life ended tragically on November 5, 2006 when she was killed in a hit-and-run car accident in Los Angeles. An estimated 3,000 people attended Elizabeth’s funeral, which took place on her 23rd birthday. This was a true testament to how many lives Elizabeth touched. Today her legacy is continuing to changes lives through Elizabeth Toon Charities.
