Our Mission

Elizabeth Toon Charities is a Christian-based 501(c) (3) organization dedicated to serving children in need and their families throughout Texas. The organization was inspired by the faith, hope and love of Elizabeth Toon.

Elizabeth’s Legacy

Elizabeth Toon Charities was founded 2007 in honor of Elizabeth Toon, who was tragically killed by a hit-and-run driver in 2006 at age 22. Elizabeth had a joyful and blessed life and touched others with her awe-inspiring faith, love and kindness. Elizabeth’s dream of being the salt and light for children in need lives on through Elizabeth Toon Charities.

Our Vision

Elizabeth Toon Charities is founded on the principles of faith, hope and love. We support organizations that provide education, assistance, comfort and therapy to those who have been impacted by abuse, grief, poverty, disabilities and terminal illnesses.

We are a Christian-based, non-profit organization and are committed to being good stewards of our funds to make the greatest impact on the people, organizations and communities we support. Our membership and supporters consist of young adults and companies who are passionate about helping children in need.

We strive to build long-term relationships with the donors, volunteers, members and partners who support Elizabeth Toon Charities and aim to instill a love-centered philosophy in the lives that we touch.

Supporters of Elizabeth Toon Charities are able to impact the Dallas community by helping organizations that provide education, assistance, comfort and therapy to those who have been impacted by abuse, grief, poverty, disabilities and terminal illnesses.

Since 2007 ETC has raised almost $5 million dollars. By giving to ETC, your donations are able to support larger community needs, making the most impact in the Dallas community.

Through an extensive grant application process, site inspections and reviews we ensure that contributions to ETC are allocated to organizations and specifically chosen projects that best fit our mission and values of helping children and families in need.

ETC volunteers are young well-connected professionals who share a vision for helping the Dallas community.

About Elizabeth

Elizabeth Toon UT Graduation

Elizabeth Toon grew up in Dallas and attended Highland Park High School. In 2006 she graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor’s degree in communications. During college, Elizabeth was selected to serve as a communications intern for First Lady Laura Bush. In 2004 she spent a semester working on the presidential election campaign in Washington, D.C. Upon graduation, Elizabeth moved to Los Angeles, CA to start a career as a line producer managing movie budgets and film projects.

Elizabeth’s life ended tragically on November 5, 2006 when she was killed in a hit-and-run car accident in Los Angeles. An estimated 3,000 people attended Elizabeth’s funeral, which took place on her 23rd birthday. This was a true testament to how many lives Elizabeth touched. Today her legacy is continuing to changes lives through Elizabeth Toon Charities.
